The hospitality industry is the Mornington Peninsula’s largest employer. At any one time there are 200 unfilled hospitality positions. The peninsula also has one of the highest levels of youth unemployment in Australia. HomeGround is a social enterprise aiming to bridge the gap between unemployed youth and vacant hospitality jobs. HomeGround provides vocational training for unskilled youth by partnering with companies like Commonfolk. That Spirited Lot Distillers began as a wild idea between brothers Jon-Paul (JP) and Chris Willigenburg in 2016. It was a lifelong dream of theirs to work together on a project that captured their love for tastes and flavours and distilling offered a perfect new adventure.
